This year’s Kansas City FilmFest brings about new and exciting changes for moviegoers and filmmakers. Every year we look forward to aspiring filmmakers showcasing their work and giving us a little bit of excitement throughout the city. This year will be the fest’s first outdoor screening, shown in Power & Light District’s Living Room. The title playing, “Cost of a Soul,” recently won the “Big Break Movie Contest” sponsored by AMC Theaters. The FilmFest, which is low in cost, but high in culture, affords Kansas City residents the opportunity to get involved with the local entertainment scene. The tickets sold for the event will also benefit Variety, a children’s charity in Kansas City. So, while we get a night out to enjoy the films and weather, we are also helping our community. Go to kcfilmfest.org for movie details.
